As I am writing this letter, it is raining, 54 degrees, and very chilly. Not what we all expect in Florida. Warmer and more pleasant weather will return. At least we don’t have snow and ice and freezing rain!
February is a short month but certainly seemed longer this year. At our annual meeting residents elected 2 new board members and returned me to the board for another term. We had 2 Directors retire, Mary Kline and David Bailey. Both have been good Board members, and they will be missed. Thank You both for your service to Golf Lakes. Our 2 new members are Pat Mandjack and Charles Battleson. Welcome to both. This year we had 7 choices for the Board. Each of them deserves our Thanks for offering their time in this important volunteer position. It is nice to see this interest in our park and our Board of Directors.
The Night of Music is in March, and the committee has worked hard to put together an entertaining evening for us all. Tickets are available for the generous cost of $0.00-yes-free! You get your choice of 2 premium seats either Thursday night the 3rd or Saturday the 5th. Please attend and have a good laugh at and with the performers. Let’s all have fun!
I have appointed a committee to begin the process of finding a new manager. We plan to have someone in place after the first of the year so they can work with Pam before she retires.
March will see the winding down of many of our winter activities and some of our residents will begin their trip North for the summer. We wish you all a safe trip.
My wife and I wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick’s Day.
