The month of February is going to be very busy. On February 1st the clubhouse will be closed at 7:30 AM for set up of the White Elephant Sale. February 2nd is the day of the White Elephant Sale. Cleanup after the sale will be done by 4:00 PM, and the clubhouse will reopen at that time.
The next activity is the final dates for pictures to be taken for the Pictorial Directory. Those dates are the 9th, 10th, and 11th (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) from 10:00 AM to 7:30 PM on Thursday and Friday and 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM Saturday. I encourage everyone to their picture taken. The last Pictorial Directory was in 2016. There is no charge to have your picture taken and you will be given an opportunity to purchase pictures if you wish. These dates are the last chance to be included in this directory.
Our Annual Meeting is on February 13th at 7:00 PM. This meeting requires a quorum. The results of your voting will be announced, and the new Board of Directors will be introduced. Make sure you sign all required documents and envelopes and turn in your proxy. Sheriff Rick Wells will be our guest speaker that evening.
February 14th is Valentine’s Day. Everyone be sure you get something nice for your sweetheart.
February 16th will be New Resident Orientation from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the front of the clubhouse. This is a meeting that all new residents are required to attend. If you are a new or newer resident and want good information about the park, please plan on attending this meeting. There will be another New Resident Orientation in April if you are unable to attend this one.
I am encouraging everyone to attend Coffee Hour each Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM each Saturday. This is a good time to socialize with your friends and neighbors, meet new friends and neighbors, and hear weekly announcements of activities, meetings, and functions in the park. Bring your coffee cup, you can have all the coffee you want, and one donut per person. You will pay $1.00 for your seat.
Get involved in activities in Golf Lakes. The various committees are always looking for volunteers. If our residents do not volunteer, some of the things that go on in Golf Lakes may go away. No one wants to see this happen. Imagine a Golf Lakes with no flowers, no activities, no improved video and audio equipment, no entertainment, no library, no exercise classes, no nice chairs on the pool complex, no picnic area. Pretty boring!
My wife and I wish you all a Happy Valentines Day. See you around the park!
