We can consider ourselves very lucky that Ian did not make landfall in this area as first predicted. If it had hit this area, Golf Lakes would look like Fort Myers Beach and that area. We would not have had homes to return to. Even though the storm went south of us, we had about 130 homes out of 780 that had damage, but at least you can still live in your home and any damage can be repaired as you wish.
This month pictures taking will begin for our Pictorial. The dates and times for November are November 25 from 1:00 PM to 7:30 PM and November 26 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Sign-up sheets are on the Bulletin Board at the Clubhouse. The sheets for December are also on the Bulletin Board. They are for December 27, 28, 29, and 30 from 1:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Dates and times for January and February will be posted on the Bulletin Board later. All residents who are here during November and December are encouraged to sign up for those dates and times. I encourage all residents to participate. You will each receive a FREE copy of the pictorial and you will have an opportunity to purchase pictures if you wish. Our last Pictorial was in 2016 and there are many new residents since it was published. With the pictorial you can put a name to the new face you see.
Election Day is November 8, 2022. The Clubhouse will be closed to all activities that day. You may access the library during the day and the office will be open normal hours.
Most of our activities in the park begin this month. If you are interested in joining one of the committees in charge of an activity, contact the Chairman listed in the phone directory. They can help you. Remember, Golf Lakes relies on the volunteers to volunteer. The activities would not happen otherwise.
Thanksgiving Dinner this year will be a Potluck. Activities has been unable to find a caterer.
To all that are traveling this month, be safe. We all look forward to seeing everyone when you return.
